Elastic hair ties are all the rage. They're stretchy, they're comfortable, and they leave less of a dent in your hair after removing them. The only problem? They clock in anywhere from $5-$10 for a set of three. Yikes!
Don't want to put down that kind of cash and have a few minutes? Then you can make 30 or so for the same price!
- Wrap the elastic around your wrist, leaving an extra inch at the end.
- Using sharp scissors, cut the elastic at the edge of the extra inch.
- Place the ends of the elastic together with shiny side facing out.
- Wrap the elastic around your finger and pull the edges through to create a knot.
Note: Be careful when pulling the edges through not to grab the very ends, as this will cause the elastic to fray.
You can protect the ends from fraying by using Fray Check or melting the ends with a flame, but I just trim up any loose ends and let them be!
