Chalkboards are cool these days. I don't know when that happened, but it did, so I go with the flow. Plus, I've always liked chalkboards, so I suppose it works out in my favor.
On a recent outing to a friend's house, her son invited me to share a cup of hot cocoa with him, marshmallows required. As he finished off his hot cocoa, he fetched the marshmallows from the bottom of his cup with his hands, making for a happy kid and a messy face. Though I couldn't help but laugh hysterically (sorry Kamber!), he was unintentionally making a great point - marshmallows always end up at the bottom of the cup.
I'm the baby of the family, which means I relied primarily on homemade gifts for sibling birthdays. "What kind of gifts?" you may be wondering. Here's a small list of a few of the things I made as a child:
I know I recently did a body scrub post. However, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to make this one.
As a kid, I loved snow globes. A whole magical world tucked into a looking glass. Also, it was always snowing but nobody seemed to be freezing their behinds off, which I seriously wished was possible (seeing as how I grew up in a very, very cold part of Colorado).
One of my first successful cooking attempts was this recipe, so it brings back some fond memories.
Christmas ornaments make me happy. Which is kind of weird, considering I've never had a tree to hang them on (as an adult). Oh well, they're still fun and pretty and sparkly and...that list could go on forever!
Elastic hair ties are all the rage. They're stretchy, they're comfortable, and they leave less of a dent in your hair after removing them. The only problem? They clock in anywhere from $5-$10 for a set of three. Yikes!
