I realize that not everyone waits until the last possible minute to buy gifts, like I do. I also know some of those people that buy gifts this early (yes, I do consider this early) will wrap them up ASAP, to keep out prying eyes and to have everything prepared as we head into the Christmas season. So, I decided to be ever so slightly ahead of the game (as in, more than a week before the holiday) and post these chalkboard gift tags.
Sure, you could go out and buy a bunch of holiday cards to give out to folks this year. And, for family and close friends, I say GO FOR IT! But simple and homemade is in, so consider giving simple cards to the various co-workers, teachers, etc. this year.
I love me some food at Thanksgiving (to be honest, I love food pretty much all of the time). And I'm not accustomed to family conversations about what we're thankful for. However, I think there is value in actually taking a time out to really think about the people and things we are thankful for.
I've never really understood cloth napkins. I mean, you need to wash them them after each meal. Seems like a bit too much cleaning to me. That said, as I've gotten older (ugh, maybe I should say "wiser"?), I've realized that paper towels and paper napkins are on the wasteful side. So I recently invested in my very first, super adult cloth napkins.
