Christmas happened a long time ago. New Years has come and gone. I think it's safe to say that the winter holidays are behind us. Which means, sadly, so is the eggnog. It also means that I'm, I don't know, some 8 or so weeks behind on posting this.
I'm kind of in love with the Roasted Corn and Crab Chowder I posted awhile back. In fact, even without the crab, it is one of the best soups I have ever tasted. So, you can't blame me for adapting it to fulfill every soup need I could ever have!
On a recent outing to a friend's house, her son invited me to share a cup of hot cocoa with him, marshmallows required. As he finished off his hot cocoa, he fetched the marshmallows from the bottom of his cup with his hands, making for a happy kid and a messy face. Though I couldn't help but laugh hysterically (sorry Kamber!), he was unintentionally making a great point - marshmallows always end up at the bottom of the cup.
Every now and then, something comes along that makes you question the way you've always done things. For me, these cupcakes made me wonder "Why have I not always combined cheesecake and normal cake?" I don't know the answer to that question, but I can tell you that I have learned the error of my ways.
In case you haven't seen my pumpkin posts lately, I have to warn you that I'm kind of in love with that squash. It signals the start of autumn and warns me that I must prepare for my winter hibernation (and, by hibernation, I mean that the only time I get out of my pajamas and leave the house is for work).
